Jim Wilson
With more that 35 years experience in the Aero Engine industry, Jim brings knowledge and experiences in all aspects of doing business from initial supplier development all the way to after market customer support.
Jim was born in Montreal, Canada and spent 20+ years with Pratt & Whitney Canada in over a dozen increasingly responsible roles before being selected in 2011 to represent P&WC with suppliers in the US Southwest and was relocated to the Phoenix area. Now a dual US-Canadian citizen, Jim has worked with suppliers literally around the world and can help your business be successful.
Besides holding an MBA in International Business Management, Jim has been certified as both an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence and completed 80% of a Masters of Aeronautical Science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (until the kids came along).

Writing team contributor - AESQ AS13100 Quality Management System Requirements for Aero-engine Design and Production Organizations™ standard on both the original version and the new Revision A.
Writing team contributor - last 6 UTC/RTX ASQR-01 Aerospace Supplier Quality Requirements documents and related standards (supplemental to AS9100™ and AS13100™)
- Including past collaboration with Sikorsky, HS/UTAS/Collins, and other P&W divisions
- Author of multiple ASQR-01 Forms and related user guides
Team Leader, AS13100™ Quality Audits Subject Matter Interest Group (SMIG)
- Defining minimum industry internal/supplier audit requirements
- Defining minimum industry Auditor qualification requirements
- Creator of the new RM13009™ Self-Assessment checklist
Deputy Team Leader on the AESQ Communications Team
Active participant on Various AESQ teams: AS13100™ Deployment team; AESQ Supplier Conference Planning Committee; the Design Responsible Supplier SMIG; AESQ Training Team.
Lead Auditor on multi-day quality system audits at aero-engine suppliers in North America, Europe, and Asia
- Quality systems audits (ASQR-01, SQOP-01, AS13100™, etc.)
- Fixed process/ESA manufacturing process audits
- Delegated Product Release Verification (DPRV) program audits
- Shop Assist supplier quality system audits
Develop and certify new aero-engine suppliers
- Quality focal on a multi-functional initial supplier evaluation team to evaluate new supplier’s quality systems and report on viability of new suppliers
- Deliver training sessions and provide practical consultation (typically 3-6 months) for new suppliers to establish compliant processes
- Perform a final, formal quality systems audit of the new supplier and certify that it is ready to begin to produce quality production hardware or services
